Did you know that the Victoria and Albert in London has the world's oldest museum restaurant? It is a magnificent space that opened in 1868as the Refreshment Room, decorated in Victorian style. You might already know that I find museum cafes to be of utmost importance. So there I was, with my new purchases: a V&A pencil "Artefacts and Ideas" and a large V&A notebook.
There is this saying that you are what you eat. So I thought, while debating what to pick with my coffee, you probably also become what you eat. That's how I ended up with the Millionaire's shortbread, which consists, as Google tells me, of a "crunchy and rich rectangular shortbread biscuit base topped with a chewy and soft caramel filling and a shiny milk chocolate topping."
I'm a bit slow sometimes (too much sugar might be the problem) and it was only later, while telling A's mother about the delicatesse and she replied "Oh, it's very rich!" that it finally dawned on me where its name comes from.
