I was stuck in the rain on my morning walk. While waiting for it to be over, I had plenty of time to observe the signage of the coffee shop at the corner. I found its aesthetics quite brutal. The threatening thick capital letters are probably written by someone who got out of the wrong side of bed. Even the "hausgemacht" (home made) doesn't radiate its usual warmth and heartiness but rather reads like a warning that the cookies are rock hard and made with torture tools.
"Hilfe!" I wrote to a few friends who I thought could be awake, "I'm stuck in the rain." Only one friend answered and asked if I had my sleeping bag with me. So I helped myself and managed to get to the local DM where I spent an hour on a shopping spray buying nail polish that was advertised as "90's BACK-ALRIGHT!", a tool for face massage, Kneip salt for my feet, and a cloth to clean the windows. I'm now ready for Sunday, when it will be 25 degrees. Check me out on Tempelhofer field with a fresh face, clean feet, and trendy nails (someone wants to do my windows?)
