Not-Knowing

Not-Knowing

A has been indulging the new publication of Paul McCartney's songs. He sent me a snippet that he thought I would like. It's about novelist and short story writer Donald Barthelme who in his essay "Not-Knowing"  described the writer as "one who, embarking on a task, does not know what to do". Or: "the work's way of getting itself written".  Lately, I have been waiting too much to get inspired to write. I forgot, or lost trust, that it is the writing itself that brings along ideas.
