I've been watching the documentary The Life of Andy Warhol and it made me, if possible, even more in awe of what Andy Warhol did. Another nice detail that I found out online (sorry, forgot where, I think Blake Gopnik's Instagram...):
Andy Warhol knew what the score was, one of his first boyfriends said, but "he was always involved with it on the level of a game or play.... He couldn't understand why people were taking things so seriously." Blake Gopnik: "Even when Warhol went on to make some of history's most serious art, an unserious manner was central to his public persona."
